Remember Beyoncé incorporated a bit of edgy, dangerous sex appeal into Deréon ads? Well, now she's taking that tough-luxe look to the bank.
Following in Chanel's footsteps, Tina Knowles announced the launch of a limited-edition line of Tempu temporary tattoos that mirror Bey's intricate ink from the Fall 2010 Deréon ad campaign.
Tina Knowles told WWD: "With a sixties-pinup-girl meets-futuristic-biker-chick theme, Beyoncé and I really wanted to give our Deréon Fall 2010 campaign a tough edginess." 60's pin-up girl meet futuristic biker? I've got to see these clothes. They could actually be sexy...you know in a "Why Don't You Love Me?" video meets Will.I.Am's wardrobe kind of way.
As for the designs, think spiders, jewels, bones and spikes---oh and the Dereon fleur logo. Very bad girl of Beyoncé who allegedly removed her own tattoo before joining Destiny's Child. How things have changed!
The waterproof tattoos that last for 2-5 days will be sold at Sephora.com, Temptu.com and Dereon.com starting November 1st. A basic kit (two prints of each design) goes for $16, while a deluxe kit (two prints of each design, an opp to come to NYC for a photo shoot and a photo signed by Beyoncé) is priced at $34.
You know the stans are buying the last one. Or...scary...will people make the Deréon logo a permanent tattoo a la Baby Phat?
What do you think of Bey's new tattoo line and her new edgy direction for Deréon?
Kisses,
Coutura
